Many MP”s and the Editor of Indian Express feel sad that Anna Hazare has won and the democracy has been subverted. They have the pen in their hands and can write their opinion. But the main question I why the electoral process is not getting rectified .How are the murderers, thieves, blackmailers, Dons and other corrupt enter parliament on the basis of having been elected by people? What action the government has taken to prevent such unwanted elements from entering the parliament. Not Guilty unless proved guilty is the excuse given by Government. Is it acceptable?
Why should the bad elements known to society and which threaten the society be allowed to stand for election at all? It is not the fundamental right of a criminally accused person to contest election. Why would not Mr Shekhar Gupta take up the issue instead of chanting the norms of Democracy. Does he not know that Democracy is not people in Power like Kapil sibal but the Voi9ce of the people demanding Justice and clean governance. While I write this two glaring cases have come to the notice. One is that of a deputy village sarpanch siphoning rural development funds at gun point and two IAS officers who have been sentenced to imprisonment in Andhra pradesh.
Mayavati’s assets which were 37 crores in last election increased to 57 crores now or probably more. None to question it because she is an elected representative?
Who can investigate the assets of chief ministers, Cabinet minister and High ranking IAS officers? It is well known that corruption rules all police postings and stations. What was the beginning of Chief minister Karunanidhi of Tamil nadu and what business he did to accumulate the crores he has now? J jaya Lalitha is known to own thousands of crores of property in india and abroad. She is standing for chief minister Of Tamil nadu. She has the Money and Muscle power to throw off any opposition. Is it democracy?
