The Emergency and Indira Gandhi

At the time of Emergency there were many who supported her for the strictness she observed in suppressing people’s rights. Similarly now also there are many voices which support Man Mohan Singh who refuses the revised Lok pal demands. Just like Indira Gandhi all corrupt MP's are behind Manmohan Singh who call the people of India outsiders. The stand of the government is that the elected representative is a sacred cow who cannot be questioned on corruption. They are quoting the constitution framed by some Honest men who never expected the level of degradation in politicians. So they did not make any provision. In US even the president can be impeached by the senate if found to be corrupt.
